Contributing Stylist - Dalton
Who does not love the allure of bright and fun pops of colors in
your hair when you want to hit the town? Now I know what your thinking "yeah right Dalton and lose my
job".
Now do I have a fun solution for you ladies! Hair chalking!!!
This Haute trend was invented by The Hills star LC (Lauren
Conrad) and her stylist after a shoot for her Kohl's line. I admit that this
trend is super fun and easy but it's super messy so be prepared!
You need...
* Chalk
* Rubber gloves
* Clips
* Towels or robe to cover your clothes
* Water bottle
Here is how!
1: Section and Dampen Your Hair
Just select the sections of your hair where you want the color
and section off with clips.
Next dampen the hair with the spray bottle (Blondes skip this
step).
2: Apply Chalk
Use any "soft pastel" chalk from any major art store (Cover
your clothes ladies!).
Apply the chalk in a downward motion while twisting your hair (Upward
motions may damage your hair).
3: Dry and Style
If at all possible allow your hair to air dry as to allow the
pigment look more vibrant. After your hair is dry you may flat iron or curl as
normal.
Now ladies avoid chalking your hair too often, the powder
pigment can suck up much needed moisture in your hair. To remove the chalk
simply shampoo and condition as normal. Have fun with your hair ladies!! Let’s
get playful this summer!
